Welcome to Year 5

This half term, Year 5 will be learning about...

At the beginning of term, Year 5 pupils will be taking part in the Bikeability cycle training course, so that pupils can learn to ride their bikes safely when out on the roads.

During the Summer term, Year 5 will be studying Ancient Greece. The children will be learning all about features of everyday life in Ancient Greece, as well as how the Ancient Greeks have influenced the western world. We will learning about the origins of democracy, as well as reading some Greek myths and creating our own Greek amphoras.

Later in the term, as part of the Year 5 Science curriculum, we will be discussing changes that occur as humans develop, as well as studying the life cycles of some mammals, amphibians, insects and birds.
