Our prospectus is available to view and can be collected from our school office.  Below is some of the key information from our prospectus that is not replicated anywhere else on this site.

Below this information are some of the inserts that we hand out with our prospectus.

Happy…

At Broadgate we are passionate about learning outside the classroom alongside all those valuable learning experiences that take place within the classroom.  We have extensive grounds which include our own outdoor classroom and a fantastic Early Years Foundation Stage outdoor play area.  Our Key Stage 1 classes also have their own outdoor areas so that learning can take place outside the classroom.

We also take our children on a variety of trips and visits, some local, some further afield.  In the past few years we have taken children to Murton Park Viking Village settlement, Temple Newsam, Jorvik, Headingley Cricket Ground, Eden Camp World War 2 exhibition, The Deep, Leeds Grand Theatre, Armley Mills Victorian Schoolroom,  Horsforth Museum, The Thackray Medical Museum, and many more.   We also organize regular visits to Horsforth Library.

As well as day trips and visits we also provide the opportunity for children to spend time away from home and school on two residential visits throughout their time in school.  In the recent past these visits have been to Robinwood Activity Centre and then at the end of Y6, to London.

We are also proud to be involved in events within our local community, such as Horsforth Gala, Horsforth Walk of Art, Athletics and Sports festivals and tournaments and even maths challenges with other schools in the area.

Confident…

School Council

Pupils have opportunities to take on a number of roles around school and we have an active school council with representatives from Years 1-6 which meets on a regular basis.  They also attend our area Cluster Council where they have the chance to meet with school councils from other local primary schools and the local high school.

Inclusion

At Broadgate Primary School we aim to identify barriers to learning and offer every child, whatever their own individual characteristics, the chance to achieve their full intellectual, physical and emotional potential, regardless of ability, race, culture, gender or social background, laying the foundations for future learning and success in life.  We want all our pupils to be happy, successful and confident and recognise that some children may need more tailored support to achieve this.  We may provide individual education plans, small group teaching or one to one support if appropriate.  We also work with a number of external agencies including speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, school nursing, counsellors and specialist behaviour support staff to ensure that all pupils are able to access the curriculum.  The school employs an inclusion manager and a learning mentor so that all pupils can access the support they need at the times when they most need it.

Attendance

Regular attendance is essential if children are to make the most out of their time at school.  We expect children to come to school every day and on time.  We celebrate the class with the best attendance each week in our Friday celebration assembly, and award attendance certificates at the end of each term.
