What's happening in Year 4 ........

Topics this half-term include:

In science, we are investigating different materials and changing states of matter.

In geography our focus is mountains, earthquakes and volcanoes. We are researching different mountain ranges of the world and investigating various volcanic eruptions and earthquakes throughout history.

In Maths our main focus is fractions, including adding, subtracting and identifying equivalents. Our aim is to increase the childrens' confidence in this area.

In English we are continuing with our mini-topic about Roald Dahl. Our class reading book is Matilda and among other pieces of writing, the children will be producing a balanced argument linked to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

In computing our topic is all about programming. The children will use algorithms to create a simple coded conversation. We will also be incoporating computing skills to support our learning about Roald Dahl. For example, children will have the opportunity to use basic word processing skills such as pasting and formatting pictures.
